In January, the UK Government announced plans to test every pupil in England on their times tables before leaving primary school. The new test will be on-screen and will be piloted to around 300 school pupils in 80 primary schools this summer, before being rolled out across the country in 2017. Covering times tables up to 12×12, the tests will be timed and scored instantly.
An effective way to prepare school pupils for the new times tables tests is by using the new Collins’ Times Tables Simulator. This free online tool allows your pupils to master multiplication ahead of the times tables tests. It also gives teachers the opportunity to test their own skills. We challenge you to try it on your lunch break!
Komodo Maths recently launched a video demonstrating a simple way for children to learn their times tables. It really shows that multiplication doesn’t have to be daunting. Click below to view the video.
Learning times tables is daunting, so we made a video to show it’s not as hard as it seems. https://t.co/AtnY811Dqphttps://t.co/Fe6uMXWDgZ
